Student Teaching, 7th Grade English, Landisville Middle School, Landisville, PA

Beginning my final year at Elizabethtown College, I was blessed to have the opportunity to student teach at Landisville Middle School in Landisville, PA. The middle school is part of the Hempfield School District, one of the largest districts in Lancaster County, and allowed me to have my first full teaching experience in a junior high school environment.

While at Landisville, I developed lessons centered around grammar, including nouns, pronouns, and verbs, and also units on nonfiction and poetry. I was also able to hone my classroom management skills in a middle school environment, something I had not had the opportunity to do until that point.
