Elizabethtown College Momentum Schedule

I was approached over the summer after my junior year of college by the director of a new diversity initiative on campus with an intriguing idea. The program was called Momentum, and the students would be coming to school a week earlier than other freshmen to help them acclimate better to the Elizabethtown environment and to involve them in numerous activities on and off campus. Due to the complexity of organizing a week-long schedule of activities for these students, the staff member wanted to create a visually appealing newspaper-style format to help the students find their way. That’s where I came in.

Although I had plenty of experience working with numerous publishing tools and design programs, this project proved to be a larger challenge than I expected, as it was the first time I assembled an entire publication by myself and from scratch. There were no templates involved and a timeline of about one week to complete the whole project. However, I was quite pleased with the way it turned out, and so were the numerous students and staff members involved, as I even received recognition from the College president after the publication was released.
