It seems that every small, private liberal arts college in the country is currently trying to set itself apart from the competition by touting its many majors, interdisciplinary experiences, and student-to-faculty ratio as reasons not to go to a larger state institution. Sure, most of these schools truly do provide a tight-knit student-faculty relationship, and many have so many majors that some of the areas of concentration graduate less than five students every year. This afternoon, Mashable ran a story that quickly growing start-up Square is proposing the installment of iPads in New York City taxies to the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission. The iPads would replace the currently consumer-loathed offering, Taxi TV, and would open up possibilities for many major app providers on the iPad, such as Foursquare, Twitter, and of course Square.

Apologizing may be the hardest thing to do

I don’t think I am alone in saying that admitting you’re wrong is one of the most difficult things, especially when that admission is public in the form of a printed apology. It’s even worse when the apology is half-hearted. I had to deal with this problem over the course of the last week, as an editorial I wrote for the Etownian had one line that was misconstrued that dealt with racism and a prominent ex-faculty member on the College campus.
